The Department of Photography and Media aims to cultivate media-expansive photography and video professionals suited to the era of Industry 4.0. Since being selected as an Excellent Specialized Department by the Ministry of Education in 2014, the department has continuously developed and deepened its educational framework, focusing on learning tracks centered on cultural and artistic creation and education and genre-based planning and production in photography. Through this approach, the department is committed to nurturing future-oriented photography and media professionals grounded in academic knowledge and creative thinking. The Department of Photography and Media provides a convergence-based education system aligned with contemporary media environments. It operates department-exclusive medium- and large-scale photography studios, digital labs, and editing suites, as well as diverse educational spaces designed for creative projects and seminars. In addition, the department continually expands its collection of state-of-the-art photography and media equipment to maximize the practical competencies required of media-expansive photography and video professionals. Its step-by-step curriculum includes courses that strengthen the competencies of content creators and is structured to allow students to naturally complete the core subjects of the department’s specialized education track. Through this system, students are offered programs that enable them to earn both a departmental degree and a practice-oriented, interdisciplinary degree. This educational framework represents a distinctive model unique to Keimyung University’s Department of Photography and Media, cultivating specialists across diverse photographic fields while simultaneously producing content creators equipped for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
